A warlock in one of my old guilds used to play across two monitors. I personally found his screenshots distracting, and it would induce a ton of eyestrain. There's a reason that most people put timers/huds/etc. near the center of the screen.

Why would you want to put your interface on a second screen? Isn't the entire point of it to have the things that you need close at hand? If you're looking to shrink the amount of space it takes up on your screen, there are some great minimalist UI's out there.
I do play with dual monitors, but not the way you're describing. WoW gets a full screen to itself, while anything else I'm doing goes into the second.

^^^ I need to learn this - I have the ability to use two monitors, but I want one for WoW, the other for whatever else (inet searches, etc).

try searching the forums, specifically the ui forums. there are some threads there.
I personally play with wow on one window and firefox/im on the other (jsut run wow in windowed mode).
search these forums, the answers to all of your questions are there.

Mp point is that WoW scene can be very cluttered, Some interface on screen such as Bartender,Why are your bars visible?
Recount statsWhy do you have recount open/huge?
spells and talents iconsWhy are your buttons visible?
You
can
do what you're asking, but the value-add would be negligible at best, and a detriment otherwise.

I used to use dual monitors. I had wow up on one screen and the other for browsing the webs, you know like thottbot, pornotube, all the important stuff. It's not a terrible idea, but I found myself tending to accidentally click off of my main monitor and onto my secondary in very inconvenient moments.

I use dual screen.
This is a regular screenshot:

I don't have a screen shot of my other UI profile but it looks similar to this:
http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/6049/paladinuiej3.jpg
(This is not me, I just Google Image searched it.)
Mine's much cleaner though. I personally stretch the display across both screens and use Sunn Viewport Art (
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/sunn-viewport-art.aspx
) to set my viewport to the right monitor and all of my status information, raid information, chat, map, etc is on the left. I prefer a minimalist screen, especially when healing or tanking and all of my unnecessary information (stuff I only glance at) can be on the left screen to facilitate that.
I don't use it often though since my screens are (clearly from the first screenshot) different sizes and I tend to lose things because I move $%^& around too much :S
Edit:
There's a great guide on how to do it here:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=12052602&postId=118114325&sid=1#0
I didn't personally follow it but he explains some things you should know if you're not an advanced user.

I too play with dual monitors...both 22" widescreens. Wow on the left one and WoWhead, vent or whatever else I want on the 2nd. Browsing forums, news, etc.
I got sick of alt/tabbing.

i used to use dual monitors...one to play and one to surf the web.
would of been cool to have one where your looking from behind and the other your looking in front (and if you can hook 2 more up, one from each side) lol

Without viewport, your best off playing wow with 1 monitor, or
3 monitors.
the problem with 2 is that ur character is in the middle of the 2 monitors and hes.... "cut" in half because of the physical gap between them, and is quite annoying.
but yer, i might play around with viewport to make something like
this
(posted above). but that also means i cant look at Wowhead while playing anymore :(

Sure you can, I've set up Firefox to have an "Always on top" hotkey. I hit it and it overlays my left screen. Hit it again and it goes away.

I use two monitors. I have a huge 22 inch CRT(the big ones) and a 17 inch flat panel. I keep wow in windowed mode but maximized. On the smaller screen I keep firefox pulled up. I always have a tab of wowhead open. I check hulu for movies and TV shows to watch. I watch those shows/movies during raids.
I am a raid healer, I have to find something to do.
The concept of playing WoW on 2 screen at once is flawed. You would have to divide the game, putting your character in a state where he is dissected on both screens. Just looking forward or near your character would become annoying.
If you use interface add on to organize important information, it really does not accomplish much. You are spreading information over a wider area at the expensive of loosing quality where the two screens come together.
Having two screens is win on a computer that can handle it
Having WoW on two screens is fail.
