I actually like it. Having previously leveled a character to 77, with mounts, should I want to make an alt, I would level faster.
If you want, you can wait until level 30, buy the mount, and give the gold you're saving away, or even 40. Nothing is stopping you from doing that, and nothing is making you use the mounts at 20/30/60.

What is going on? I don´t like the new patch.. First lvl 40, then 30 now 20..
Next time lvl 10? And then next time when you create a char, you will have mount, and you doesn´t need to pay for the apprentice..
What do u think?
I think that running and travelling sucks, so anything that cuts down on time wasted moving from spot to spot is great with me..I read somewhere that 70% of time spend on wow is spend travelling. I don't know how they reached that number or if it's accurate, but in my book travelling time = wasted time. I like quests and instances, that's the fun part - sitting on a gryphon or running = booooring.
If it was up to me, running would be faster, mounts from very early on, epic flyer would be 500% and gryphon taxis would be replaced by teleports. If that made us reach endgame too fast for Blizzard, they should lower xp gain and add more quests..

I liked the 40, got used to 30, but 20 is getting ridiculous... And all the travelling skills (Druid, Hunter, Shaman) at 16? This is just wrong.

Forbid that Blizzard keeps people from wasting more time walking places. How awful of them!

Why don't they just implent Instant Travelling like in Oblivion then? Huh, huh?

Key difference: Oblivion is single player, off line, WoW is multi player, online. Players teleporting all over the place would blow up the world! :D
And why do we have bag slots then? Huh, huh? Clearly we should only be able to carry 400lbs of weight, including mounts.
EDIT: In case you couldn't tell, that "huh, huh?" really made me want to smack you in the face.

I know I sat and literally counted down the days till the new patch so I could go ahead and GET a mount because it was taking me forever to level up the character I was playing at the time! I think it's a great thing because really, it DOES take a lot of time up traveling around and running here, and running there.

How exactly was getting a mount at 40 an accomplishment anyway? It was just 40 levels of increasing annoyance. Even at 30, running back and forth across Duskwood took away some of my enjoyment of that zone. Seriously, who here didn't groan inside when that hermit at Raven Hill sent you to Darkshire yet again? I'd prefer being able to ride from the start (I can shoot balls of flame out of my hands, but riding a horse is just beyond my abilities?) but getting to 20 is pretty quick and gives you enough of a taste of how bad running around is.
Complaints about the new riding levels reminds me of the grumpy old man from Saturday Night Live. "In my day, we didn't have safety standards for toys. We got rusty nails and big bags of broken glass! That's the way it was, and we liked it! We loved it!"
