Currently it's better to either choose between CH or RT/LHW because your healing will be low with a mix of the two. CH 'requires' 500+ haste, and within that healing style RT should never go on your CH targets and LHW isn't worth using. RT/LHW 'requires' crit of 30%+ and you don't cast CH because it's too slow because you get that crit at the expense of haste.
I would advise trying to swap around some gear for another 7-8% crit and 100 spell power and then try healing without using CH.

So I'm not really fond of resurrecting an old thread, however I figured it was better than starting a new one. Here is my question/concern;
I am under the impression that there is no effective haste cap for a resto shaman concerning CH. I would not think there is an attainable cap to reduce CH below the GCD, thus making no effectively attainable haste cap.
Would this be a correct assumption or is there still a haste cap to stonewall you once you lower CH to a certain cast time (save for the T8 set bonus of course)?

The absolute cap for CH is 2355. 1700 with 4T8.

I get an absolute cap of 4918. 4263 with 4 x T8.
This is ignoring all other haste effects. Spell haste can lower the (spell)GCD down to 1 second, and I'm unsure how other haste effects affect the GCD. It's unclear if 1 second is the 'Global GCD cap', or just the 'spell haste rating GCD cap'.

all honesty.. i dont stack haste at all, and im sick of seeing these threads that talk about how shamans suck at heals or get owned in healing charts! Seriosuly Stack the hell out of SP and chain heal your little heart off. With around 2900 self buffed SP your chains hit for so much the little slower casts mean nothing, and you will OWN everyone in heals! I do not stack haste, and i do NOT EVER get beat in healing charts. Mana is never a problem either as CH heal is your most effecient heal per mana, and will actually have you going oom far longer after what a LHW RT build will.
... Shamans are meant to CH heal and be raid wide healers... stop trying to do the job of MT heals or OT heals... its not what we were created for.. If you raid heal like you were designed, and stack for huge CH heal crits, you will own face ! now start kicking ass and stop your whining about your OP healing class that you just simply dont know how to play!

Just looking at those numbers I know exactly what I did wrong. You can't get T8 at level 70, silly bear.

You simply don't have good healers.

Wow I seriously don't think you even read the posts in this thread before you flew off the handle, I'm sorry but seriously. We are talking about if there is a point when you should redirect focus away from haste and the conclusion is (very much like SP) NO. Haste is great way to increases output, not for the sake of fluffing charts, but for delivering faster heals (that means ANY healing spell, BTW). Isn't that a good thing? Last time I checked it was. Haste was important enough for Blizzard to stack it on T7, dedicate a whole 4 set bonus in T8, and return to supplying on the gear for T9. So If you ask me haste is important, maybe not the most but it's up there. Learning to balance your stats to min/max your performance is what makes a good healer a great one.
If you are honestly suggesting that resto shamans today should revert back to mindless brain heal spammers.....well.....maybe you should learn to play.

2 things
1. Someone above posted that shamans cant top charts which is crazy talk and a good shaman will always tell you that. I suggested that if you cant keep up and are wanting to top charts u should spam CH heal and it will happen for you.
2. Yes when you get better at your healing Spamming a heal is not pumping out your max potential. You for sure want to take advantage of your RT / (LHW/ HW) buff and so on so forth. But again if you dont do taht well enough to keep a tank alive, then switch back to raid heals and do what the Shaman can do with out breaking a sweat.
P.S. Healers with HUGE mana pools and HUGE mp5 who litereally never run oom should take overheals to the max in a fast paced get it done raid style. No deaths is better than saying well sorry u died dude but at least im the low man no the overhealing chart and at 100% mana all the time instead of 80%. If your going oom then stop, but if your owning face and everyone is blasting threw huge pulls and just aoe'ing multiple grps down... who cares!

Still Pallys/Druids/Priests are stomping me in overall healing but I have BL so it validates my Raid spot....That will have to do.
This may be what he was referring too. I'm still not 100% sure.
