((Here it is again.

- Nilon opened his eyes as the first light of dawn peeked into Thrrag’s cave. He was sitting just inside the cave’s mouth, his sword at his side. During the night before Nilon had suggested that they take turns watching for the Scourge and Dreadlord. Thrrag had just laughed at the idea, he was sure that they had perished under his elemental attack, but Nilon’s companions had agreed with him, and had set up a guard routine. Nilon had been the last to go, and had apparently fallen asleep sometime during the night.
- He quickly looked back into the cave. Celen, Jason, and Lord Scalebender were still all asleep. Quietly, Nilon picked up his sword and walked into the marsh. He quickly found a clean stream and splashed some of the water onto his face, the cool liquid waking him up instantly. He then proceeded to cup some of the water into his hands and drink.
- Then he heard laughter.
- Quickly, Nilon jumped to his feet, gripping the hilt of his sword, and looked up to see Morec standing on a hill before him.
- “Rule of the Order number twelve: when in hostile territory, always have a partner with you at all times.” Morec unsheathed his runeblade.
- “What do you care for the Holy Order’s regulations?” Nilon retorted.
- “About the same as you, it would seem,” Morec said pointing his runeblade at the Blood Elf Paladin. “Now, lay down your arms and submit to the might of the Scourge.”
- “You’ll have to catch me first,” Nilon replied, grinning. He thrust his free hand forward and a flash of light burst from his open palm. Morec roared in rage as the light blinded him, and Nilon ran back towards the cave.
- “Garen! John!” he heard Morec yell behind him. “Get him! Now!”
- Nilon quickly glanced over his shoulder, and immediately began to sprint faster. Morec’s two Death Knight Minions were almost right behind him, each riding a mummified raptor. The two were closing in on him faster than he could run, if he didn’t make it back to the cave in time, it would be over.
- Icy chains materialized around his legs, and he tripped, falling face first onto the groud, His sword flew from his grasp and landed several meters away. He tried to crawl towards it but his movement was slowed by the heavy chains.
- The Death Knight called John rode up next to him and dismounted. “Welcome to our world, Paladin.” He raised his spear planning to pierce Nilon’s heart.
- But, before he could bring it down, a massive tree began to grow around the Death Knight surrounding and entrapping him.
- Nilon looked up Thrrag was standing in the mouth of the cave, his totems spread around him. The Death Night Garen then rode into sight, his expression becoming one of rage as he looked around. “What did you do with my little brother?” he yelled.
- “The same thing I’m going to do to you,” the orc calmly replied. Garen roared in fury, jumped off of his mount, and charged straight for the shaman, his axe raised high. Thrrag moved his hand over one of the totems – one that glowed green – and the earth began to tremble. Massive stones rose up around the Death Knight, trapping him the same way the tree had trapped John. Garen screamed curse after curse as he was swallowed by the stones.
- “
Nothing, survives the wrath of the elements,” Thrrag said. Nilon opened his mouth to reply, but the sound of clapping hands drew his attention.
- “Nicely done,” Morec said, the head Death Knight was seated atop the most frightening-looking raptor that Nilon had ever seen. “You bested my two body gaurds.” He suddenly grinned, “Or have you? Garen, John, you’ve had your fun, time for work.”
- As he finished, the tree that had grown around John began to wither, and icy patches appeared on Garen’s stone tomb, slowly breaking it apart. Eventually the powers of both Death Knights took their toll, and Garen and John were free of their respecting prisons. NIlon slowly backed up, if he got into the cave then he, Jason, Celen, Scalebender, and – hopefully – Thrrag would be able to hold them off. But then he felt two dark presences standing behind him. He spun around to see the Dreadlord from earlier and another undead.
-
This is impossible, Nilon though.
How did they manage to survive virtually unscathed?
- As the Dreadlord advanced towards him, Thrrag called out a challenge, “Zarrok! You will face me now!”
- The Dreadlord – Zarrok – turned his attention to the shaman. “Deal with the Elf,” he said to the undead next to him, and then walked off towards the orc.
- Nilon looked around. “Unarmed and outnumbered four-to-one, three of which are Death Knights.” The Paladin grinned, “Great odds.”
- Morec raised his runeblade and charged at the Blood Elf.
